Valentine's Day Cards

Do you send Valentine's Day cards? When I was at the store I saw these and thought they were so cute. Plus, who doesn't love receiving snail mail? I had these stamps already and picked up some stickers to use as seals.

2018 Halloween Cards

I have not sent out Halloween cards in a while, or any cards for that matter, so I thought it was due time. These are the Hallmark Halloween cards we are using this year, along with Batman stamps. Do you send out Halloween cards?

Halloween Cards

I thought I would give you a look at the Halloween cards I sent out this year to family and friends. I send them to a smaller group of people than I do for our Christmas cards. As I have mentioned on here before, I love sending cards and seem to get good feedback from family and friends who enjoy receiving actual mail, so I will continue to send for now.....
I seem to always go for Hallmark's Halloween cards because I think they are cute, simple and inexpensive. This year I decided to go with the circus stamps because some are a little creepy and they're fun. Do you send Halloween cards?

Valentine's Day Cards

I like to send Valentine's Day cards out every year because I think they are fun. This year I went with the new Rifle Paper Co. Valentine postcard. I sent all the Valentine's cards off to Loveland, CO so they could have the Loveland postal mark. I did this last year too. Some people have already gotten their cards, but I sent one to myself and still have not received it. Maybe today or tomorrow. I decided to use the new love stamp to go along with the Valentine theme. I know it is more expensive than a postcard stamp, but I was willing to pay the $6 more to have the new love stamp. Here are the cards. I kept the message simple with a Pablo Neruda quote.

Valentine's to Texas Children's Hospital

For the last couple of years I have been making and sending Valentine's Day cards to Texas Children's . I think it is a fun thing to do and I am sure they LOVE receiving them. I dropped mine off at their building on Braeswood and Greenbriar where they had a box set up. As some of you know Texas Children's has a special place in my heart because this is where my brother was being treated for his cancer. He is now at MD Anderson.

If you get a chance in the next day or two send some love to the children. It is SUPER easy. Go to this link: https://waystogive.texaschildrens.org/valentine fill out the info (no credit card necessary) and choose which card you like and a child at Texas Children's will receive it. How cool is that?!

Here are some photos of my crafting. This particular day is was beautiful out so I did it all outside. The wind messed me up a couple of times, but I still think they turned out ok. Maybe next year I will have a crafting party to make cards to send to the kids.

Card Organization

I know I posted about organizing greeting cards in 2013, but I decided to change it up once again. Before I was using rings to keep all cards I receive all together, like birthdays, thank you notes, etc. I decided that I wanted to really see them without having to flip through rings. I really don' t go back to them often, but them being in rings seemed to be a hassle.

So here is what  you need:
  • Small file boxes (I got at the Container Store)
  •  Paper cutter or scissors
  • Card Stock
  • Label Maker
  • Cards

  1. Cut however many strips of card stock. For the box I used I cut 6.5" strips and cute about 1" off the bottom to fit the box.
  2. I labeled the card stock strips.
  3. Put inside the file box.
  4. File the cards under the correct tabs.

Christmas Cards and Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve!! Here are the Christmas cards that we sent out this year. We got mostly picture cards, especially since most of our friends have kids now. I actually really enjoy them because a lot of times they are from people we rarely see.

Hope you have a very Merry Christmas, if you celebrate.

Christmas Cards

I love sending cards in general, but here are the Christmas cards that I sent out this year to family and friends. I put a lot of detail into my cards, so it feels like it takes me forever to write them. I've noticed most of the cards that we have been getting this year are picture cards with printed messages on them. Since most of our friends now have children there are always pictures of the kids. Since not all the post offices by us will hand cancel, I went to a different one that does on Greenbriar and Richmond. (which on a side note: the people at the Greenbriar and Richmond post office are really nice and not rude)
