How to Organize Loose Documents

As a professional organizer in Houston I often get tasked with taking care of client's paperwork and there is usually all kinds of loose documents hanging around. 
  1. Use file folders and file them away in a file cabinet
  2. You can use file folder organizers to take them with you on the go.
  3. If you want to be able to readily access them you can use a desktop file.
  4. Some of my clients love accordion style file holders.
  5. This is another desktop file option.
  6. Document bags are great to use when traveling. 
  7. You can use magazine holders to hold all kinds of loose paper. 
  8. Some of my clients love filing loose papers in binders. I also use binders for magazine cutouts I save.

10 Things That Currently Make Me Happy: May 2019

  1. Getting away to Horseshoe Bay with Bryan on a much needed break.
  2. Spending Mother's Day with my mom and mother in law in Galveston and going to brunch at the Galvez. 
  3. Going to the JJ Watt charity classic with Bryan's family. 
  4. Finishing 2 huge projects that both turned out amazing and with happy clients. 
  5. Getting to visit my grandparents.
  6. Making an effort to not work as many weekends in May and spend more time with Bryan and down time. 
  7. Reading several books.
  8. Relaxing and finish some t.v. series. 
  9. Watching Bryan do the live action Mario Cart here in Houston. 
  10. Booking several new clients.

Client Busy Mama: Bathroom Organization + Eco Products

This has been in the drafts for some time, it was for a client I worked with years ago. She really liked having product out on top of the counter, like many of my professional organizing clients do. I thought I would link a similar product here. It is a great solution if you like to keep your product on the counter and easily accessible. 

I loved how she used so many eco products like this deodorant, my favorite Tata Harper moisturizer, Juice Beauty cleanser, eye cream, serum, overnight cream, and Beauty counter hand cream. What are some of your favorite eco beauty products?

Preparing for Hurricanes and Free Resources

If you live in Houston you know that hurricanes are a common thing here. When I am helping concierge and professional organizing clients I often come upon or create emergency plans / supplies for clients just in case something might happen. We often gather much needed supplies and everything they could need in case an emergency were to happen. Here is a past blog post I did on preparing for hurricanes. 

If you are not aware the city of Houston has some fantastic free resources for you to utilize. You can get document bags, whistles, disaster relief guides, lights, etc. all from the city of Houston if you request it. They will even have someone come out and talk to your group and bring you all these goodies if you request it. Check out for more information. Several times we have had them speak for the National Concierge Association of Greater Houston and they are always fantastic.

Eco Modern Concierge doesn't have a huge following on Instagram or Facebook, so when this photo received almost 300 likes I was a little shocked. This photo was taken at a speaking engagement I did in April and was taken on a whim.

Pen / Pencil Organization

One of the most common items that I find in homes when organizing is pens, pencils and markers. Everyone has a TON of them usually because you get them for free at various places, they accumulate, you have your favorites, etc. If we are storing overstock pen, pencil, market, etc. supply away, the most common thing we use is a clear shoebox like this. Below are some other examples of things we commonly use when clients are looking for something aesthetically pleasing to use.

Made in the USA: Clinere Ear Cleaners

Something we all do is clean our ears. That is just basic hygiene, so when a local Houston blogger posted about these ear cleaners and said they were awesome, I bought them to try. I have to say they work way better than I expected. Plus, they are made in the USA.
