5 Things to Organize This Weekend

  • Files. Go through all your files and get rid of ones that are outdated, you no longer need, or you no longer use. Recycle, shred and trash what you can.
  • Cords. Does anyone else have a box of random box of cords that you have no idea what they go to? If yes, then it is time to go through them and get rid of what you haven't used in years, you have no idea what they belong to or what you no need.
  • Table linens. If you no longer entertain and have an overwhelming amount of linens then it may be time to get rid of some. Only keep the ones you love and use.
  • Office supplies. Do you have an excessive amount of office supplies? Go through them and donate ones you don't need or want to various organizations, schools or someone you know that could use them.
  • Exercise supplies. Who has unused exercise equipment and supplies? If you have a sweat suit that has never been used in 2 decades than it is time to get rid of it.

Organizing Tool: Document Box

I absolutely love these See Jan Work document boxes from Office Depot. I use them for all kinds of things like clients receipts, magazine clippings, random paperwork, etc. They are great to use to get organized in other areas of the house or office like art supplies, greeting cards, cords, etc. Price:$11.99

Have you used these boxes? What do you use them for?

Eco Product: Coccoina Glue

Have you ever tried Coccoina Glue? I have been using it for several year and I LOVE it! It smells delicious with its almond scent. I prefer to use the stick vs the tub. I have had the same stick for years and it surprisingly has not dried out, but the tub on the other hand did become a lot dryer after several years. They are made in Italy. It is non-toxic, petroleum free, and solvent free. It is made from water, dextrin from potato starch, glycerin and glycol monopropylene You can purchase it here and here.

Closet and Office Organization

Below are photos from a closet and office organization job that I did. I always seem to forget to take photos of my work. So I am trying to be more diligent about it. I love this client (like I love all my clients). She is always so sweet and fun to work with and we get a ton accomplished in a short time.

When organizing I try to work with what you already have in your home so we don't have to go out and buy a ton of new things. Unless of course my clients want new items to make everything look more uniform.

My Office

The last post I talked about was about office organization and I thought that I would share with you what my office looks like. I try to keep it very organized so I do not procrastinate, but sometimes that becomes very difficult to do.

There are many things in my office that I LOVE here are a few:

This is the clock my boyfriend, Bryan, made me several years ago.

This is an eco calendar from Cat Seto

I found these paintings by an african artist in a resale shop for only $10!

This is my helper Rothko.

Some other things that I love about my office are the pictures of my family whom I am really close with and the amount of natural light that comes in, those things really inspire me to keep doing what I do on a daily basis.

Office Organization

One thing in my house that gets cluttered super fast is the office. I help people all the time get organized, but many of times it seems like I have the hardest time myself staying organized. Lately, I have been doing really well though.

Here are some tips to keeping your office organized

  • Have bins, baskets, trays or whatever it is that you need to help you stay organized. Just don’t get used to putting anything in them to get stuff out of the way. Make them designated for specific things.
  • File cabinets are a must. Keep up with your filing. This makes things so much easier when you are trying to look for something whether it is bills or stuff for your taxes.
  • Shelving. This is great to put notebooks, binders, supplies, etc on.
  • When mail comes in do something with it right away. Whether that is shred, file, recycle or needs to be paid bin. Don’t let it get piled up.
  • Keep it clean. For me when my workspace is clean I tend to be more productive and don’t get distracted as easily.
  • Make your supplies easily accessible to you so you don’t have to scramble when you are looking for something specific and in a rush.
