5 Things to Organize This Weekend


Looking for some quick and easy organizing projects this weekend? Here are 5 ideas of areas that you can organize this weekend. Most will only take a few hours. Remember that by starting small on your organizing journey you will not get as overwhelmed like you would if you were starting a big project. If you need to break these various areas down even more to make them more manageable, then do that. Organizing shouldn't feel stressful and do what works best for you.
  • Toys. Get rid of any old, unused toys. Sort and organize toys into categories, so it makes it easy to find what you are looking for. 
  • Spare bathroom. Do you even know what is in your spare bathroom? Go through everything and use bins to organize under the sinks and in drawers. Get rid of any old, expired products. Refresh the space every 6 months to make sure guest products are up to date and to make sure it is always ready for any unexpected guests you may have. 
  • Shoes. Do you have shoes that are falling apart, shoes you no longer wear or want? If so, get rid of them. Figure out the best way to organize your shoes based on your space. You can organize using some shoe organizing solutions found on the Eco Modern Concierge shop page.
  • Blankets. Anyone else have too many blankets? How do you organize them? Consider rolling them up and putting them in a basket near your couch or on a ladder blanket holder to display. 
  • Medication. Get rid of any expired medication and properly dispose of it.

Houston Professional Organizer // Houston Spa Storage Room

This organization project is from a few years ago when we helped a local Houston spa transform and organize their inventory room after they had a leak and had to redo everything in there. It was a fun project to work on from start to finish. The construction company was the original people to reach out to us to help design the space and organize it. We then went on to organize their 2nd location as they renovated this location. This project was a challenge that we happily accepted an LOVED how everything turned out. It was so fun and now we want to organize every spa space. 

Here is what we helped organize at this Houston spa:
  1. Design the space and layout of how the shelving units and desks in the space would go. 
  2. Procure the right type of shelving and organization products needed for the space.
  3. Sort product with employees by type. 
  4. Designate areas for all inventory.
  5. Go through their storage area and organize the space
  6. Coordinate and manage the movers for haul off of donation items and pick up of furniture items.
  7. Organize all inventory. 
  8. Everyone loving all the organized spaces.

3 Tips for Trying to Balance Work / Life While Working From Home



Are you still working from home because of the pandemic? Many of our professional organizing and concierge clients are still working from home, so we have helped them in many different ways get organized and TRY to help with their work / life balance. I don't think there will ever be an absolutely perfect balance, but there are definitely things that you can do to help you alleviate stress and not feel so overwhelmed all the time. When you are at home working in confined spaces it can be tough and if you are a procrastinator, you will find excuses to do other things that are stressing you out like organizing your desk. 
Here are 3 tips to help you when you are working from home. 
  • Invest in desk organization products like drawer organizers, desktop file system, school cart. Here is a school cart we created for a client. Drawer organizers are definitely one of the items we use the most when working with clients.   • Organize your space at the end of each day so you start the day fresh and ready to go. This is extremely helpful when you are trying to be productive. It is such a great feeling to wake up in the morning and not have to clean up your work space. This goes for any area of your home as well. Spend 15-20 minutes or less each night straightening up areas and you will wake up less stressed and ready to get a jump start on the day.
  • If you need help in a specific area outsource it. In the long run it will save you time, money and reduce your stress levels. Outsourcing various areas of your life is extremely helpful if you don't have the time or are finding it hard to make the time to get certain things in your life done. Somethings you can outsource errands, house cleaning, yard help, organization, meal prep, etc. Figure out if you outsourcing it is cost effective and then go from there.

10 Things That Make Me Happy: March 2021


March was a GREAT month with lots of new adventures underway. I loved every.single.moment. the good, the bad, the easy and the hard.
  1. OUR SWEET BABY BOY BEING BORN!!! This absolutely tops everything else that happened in March. We are so incredibly in love with him. 
  2. Seeing so many family and friends.
  3. The help we have gotten around the house and to be able to catch up on some sleep.
  4. Premade meals people have made for us. This has been a life saver. 
  5. Being able to escape with just my husband. 
  6. Going to Round Top / Warrenton with my mother in law.
  7. Having a month of first being a family of 3.
  8. Seeing the Easter bunny with our sweet boy. 
  9. Every day being new adventure and not knowing what to expect.
  10. Being on this new adventure of life, learning and figuring out how to handle everything.

Houston Professional Organizer // Kid's Closet Organization


Being a professional organizer means that we organize all types of spaces including kids spaces. The son and daughter were sharing a closet so we made sure each of them had a designated side of the closet and we put some organization systems in place. This client did not want to change the hangers in the closet so we left them how they were. We did not purge anything and made everything work based on the space and organization products we had on hand. 

Here is what we did:
  1. Made sure each child had their own side of the closet.
  2. Used what they had in regards to hangers.
  3. Separated clothes by child, type and color.
  4. Added baskets for for various things that they had in their rooms. 
  5. Added labels and labeled each basket.
  6. Organized inside of all the drawers.
