NAPO Conference Packing Tips: From NAPO Houston Members
Next week a whole bunch of Houston professional organizers are headed to the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NAPO) conference in Fort Worth, TX. We have about 30 or so Houston members and business partners going and this may be the largest amount to have gone because it is only a 4 or so hour drive from Houston to Fort Worth. A whole bunch of us are super excited. I personally can't wait to catch up with colleagues, meet new people, learn and have fun! Will you be there? Here are some tips from our members on what you should bring:
Adonna Braly of Clutter Roundup: "Comfortable shoes!....lots of walking going on there!"
Ann Zanon of A2Z Organizing Solutions:
"-a pen or marker that writes on shiny business cards.
-a sweater or large scarf for the cold rooms
-reusable water bottle (remember Pittsburgh with the dixie cups?)
-small snacks if you are a snacker"
Naomi Kealy of Charming Spaces: "I was planning to bring business cards, a notebook and pencil, and probably my phone charger."
Susan Wade of Sunflower Strategies: "Highlighter for handouts, rubber band for all the biz cards you'll be getting, 2 binder clips in case your room faces East and the drapes don't close all the way (past experience) lol, ribbon or something to tie or clip or your conference bag since they are all the same"
Ellen Delap of Professional-organizer.com: "Sweater or shawl. It’s cold in there"
Michelle Smithpeter of Pretty Practical Spaces: "I appreciate all the tips! It is my first NAPO Conference.
I will bring my own tote bag to haul the daily take + session prep materials."
Mary Jo Contello of Organized by MJ: "A notebook for all your notes or print out the session handouts to write on as they do not give you copies. And a reusable cup or water bottle as mentioned above. Never leave without a sweater or light weight jacket...it is freezing. Since we are mostly driving lots of snacks and your favorite adult beverage!"
Tiffany Mensing of Space and Serenity: "Tissues for when they talk about the community partner ðŸ˜"
Gayle Goddard of The Clutter Fairy: "My favorite conference helper is an office supply - a clear, pleated, zippered pouch. I use it to capture all my receipts while I'm there, plus all the business cards I get from organizers and vendors both. There's always some coupon from a vendor or small info sheet to keep track of - it's the perfect way to capture all the little papers you need when you get home!"
Amy Vance of Eco Modern Concierge: "I agree with everyone else, but also want to add. Bring cash for tipping if you go out or need it unexpectedly, medicine / vitamins to stay in tip top shape like emergen C, multivitamin, etc., swimsuit if the hotel has a pool or hot tub, portable charger, if you are driving or bring in wine or beer, don't forget the opener ;), and the list goes on..... "

Happy 1st Day of Spring & Spring 2019 Bucket List
Happy 1st day of Spring! Warmer temps are on the horizon and here is my Spring 2019 bucket list
Go on at least 3 or more walks / park visits a week with our sweet dog. This used to be such a regular habit that we got out of doing in the colder months.
Try a new salad recipe. I have a salad recipe book my mother in law gave me years ago and want to try something new.
Outdoor yoga. I NEED more yoga in my life.
Go to the drive in movie. We haven't been in so long and I would love to go again.
Long bike rides. I love riding my bike.
Go to a new date spot with Bryan. We tend to go and do a lot of the same things that we like and we need to try something new.
What is on your spring bucket list?

It was 2 organizers and we helped line all of the shelves in the kitchen and bathrooms with shelf liner and helped them get organized and set up in their new home. If you are moving and have considered using a professional organizer, I highly recommend it. If you are in the Houston area looking for a professional organizer we would love to help you.
Below are some before & afters of this pantry organization project. Here are some products that we used in this project.

Client Fashion Blogger: Closet Organization Before & After
I worked on this closet organization project almost a year ago in The Woodlands, TX. It is a suburb just outside of Houston, TX. I can't believe I am just now getting around to showing you the before & afters. I changed all the hangers in this closet, sorted items by type and then color. I was the only one working in this closet while the client was away and I think it came out great! Changing hangers to all of the same hangers is one of the easiest ways to make a closet look more organized and put together.
Here are some items to help your closet look great and organized:

Made in the USA + Eco Cleaning Supplies: Branch Basics
I first got introduced to Branch Basics these products from a client. Then come to find out many of my clients use these products and some are even friends with the founders. I love that they are eco, made in the USA and a little goes a long way. I have been using them for a while now and really like them. They are unscented, but you can easily add high grade essential oils to the products if you want a certain scent. You get one large bottle of concentrate and all the other bottles are empty, except the oxygen boost. Each bottle tells you what to do, like where to fill the water to and then where to fill the concentrate to. Super easy and lasts a long time.
Have you tried these products yet?

Eco Modern Concierge Featured on the NAPO Stand Out Podcast
Once again, when the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals (NAPO) reached out to me to do their podcast it was another resounding YES, but I was also very nervous. The host Sarah couldn't have been more easy to talk to and I was so glad I did it. Truth be told, I still have not listened to it because I am too nervous too. If you would like to listen to it, go here to listen to my episode.

Quick and Easy Party Organization Tip
I started this post awhile back and decided now was a good time to finish it. I know this seems like a no brainer to many, but if you are looking to jazz up some supplies for party hosting then use some inexpensive bins to separate everything out and keep it organized.
Being a professional organizer tons of my clients are constantly hosting parties all over Houston and beyond. Sometimes hosting parties can seem daunting and you feel like you want to go over the top, but if you are looking to keep something casual and simple use decorative items from around your home to organize various things. These bins above were all from the dollar store. It is quick and simple to grab what you need because you can see everything separated out. Fun fact: I actually made those pom pom appetizer picks.
Here are similar items to the ones above:

The Most Liked Eco Modern Concierge Instagram and Facebook Photo in February
With Instagram changing their algorithm I don't get nearly the amount of post likes like I used to. I love organizing for clients and after working with this client I posted this picture that got lots of interaction on Facebook and Instagram. I think it may be because I was actually in it. This client was a rockstar and donated SOOOOO MUCH. So if you are in Houston or beyond and looking for an organizer, I would LOVE to help you declutter and begin or fine tune your organization journey.

Eco Kid's Activity
I saw this kids recycle activity book when I was at at the dollar store and thought it was such a fun, great way to teach kids about recycling while doing a learning activity. Here is the exact one online as well. What are some eco activities you do with kids?
