A Day in the Life of a Concierge in Houston: Eco Modern Concierge

I thought it would be fun to show little snippets of what I do and post a day in the life series. Who knows if I'll be diligent about it, but I'll try. This particular day was a super busy one where I was all over the city. I often times forget to take pictures because I move at such a fast pace that it usually is not a top priority of mine.

I started my day off at a clients house where I was sitting and waiting for the garage door repair man to show up and fix the garage door. This particular client I also do several other assistant tasks for. One of the tasks that I do is take their recycling since they do not have neighborhood recycling. Yes, several neighborhoods inside the loop of Houston do not offer recycling, so if you want to recycle you have to take it somewhere.

I went to a client's residence in Downtown Houston and picked up some items he needed shipped to him at his other home in California. He had sent me a message the day before asking if I could do this and I was luckily able to fit him in. :) When I have clients downtown and they need help, if there are services that I can use downtown I do. I walk just about everywhere downtown or take the Greenlink, which is a free bus system operated by Metro that goes all throughout Downtown Houston.

At UPS in Downtown Houston sending items off to my client.

I also, went by FedEx in Downtown Houston, but forget to take a picture. Ugh, so typical that I would forget when I am going 90 mph.

I stopped by the office for a brief moment to look for a paper that I couldn't find in my file cabinet at home. No luck finding it :( , but I did get another copy later on, so it was a success in the end.

As many of you may know Downtown Houston has a vast tunnel system with all kinds of restaurants, stores, services, etc. I utilize the tunnels when I can because it is close to the office and convenient. This day I took some shoes to Sparkle Cleaners in the tunnels to be repaired. It was on the way to my car, so I stopped real quick.

I love going into Phoenicia Foods and this particular day I needed to grab some lunch because I had not brought any with me.

This is me eating in the car on the way to my next client. The car was parked when I took this particular photo. I often have to eat on the run and don't have time to sit eat. I know it's a bad habit, but what can I do at the moment....

This was my last stop of the day in NE Houston. Although most of my clients are inside the loop of Houston, this is a client that I have done previous work for and was waiting for their gas to get turned on in their home.

Hope you enjoyed this series! Should I continue putting more posts up like this?

Client Busy Mama: Bathroom Organization

This is a client that I worked with earlier this year. I know it is taking me forever to post this. I did her kids closets, which you can find here, here, and here. Then we started an organization in her bathroom. Like many bathroom organization projects, we purged a lot.  We usually all have expired items we need to get rid of, items that we no longer like / use, items that are broken, and the list goes on and on. We didn't buy any new product for this project and just used what she already had. She did already have some good drawer dividers, which were great. I know some of the "after" photos still look like it is not organized, but it really was and we were working with what we had because this is real life.

Made in the USA: Crane Crest

I first found out about this company Crane Crest several years ago from A Cup of Jo. I have to say I really like this salad dressing. I think it is the perfect dressing to give as gifts and just to have around the house. To place an order you have to call them at 617-277-1325 and they come in cases of 6. I love the taste of it and it is always a hit when I pass it along to someone else. It is made in the USA!

What are some of your favorite gifts to give?

Client Fit, Fun and Fabulous: Sock Organization

Sock organization can be such a tricky thing to master because there are so many different ways you can organize socks. With this particular client we have organized his socks in various ways through the year. When he first moved into town he did not have as many socks so we used small acrylic bins and just folded them. Then you will see in the last photo that we upgraded to an Elfa shelving bin.

How do you like to organize your socks?

Here are some things I like to use to organize socks:

10 Things That Currently Make Me Happy

(from the Briscoe Museum in San Antonio)

Things the past month have been extremely stressful working with bad contractors and dealing with neighborhood drama (yes, ridiculous) on top of 5 million other things going on, so I decided that I really needed to focus on more positive things. So here are 10 things that are making me happy right now:
  • My husband listening to me complain, being supportive and giving me words of encouragement.
  • Rothko. My sweet fur baby.
  • Acoustic sunrise. Love this radio program on Sunday mornings.
  • Going to the theater with my mother-in-law.
  • Begin Again. For some reason I can never get enough of this movie.
  • Exploring Downtown Houston.
  • Hearing all about my grandparents adventures abroad.
  • Spontaneous weekend Texas trips to decompress and visit family and friends.
  • Dog walks and bike rides in the evenings.
  • Random text messages from my dad.
What are 10 things that are making you happy right now?

Made in the USA: Clare Vivier

I have been a long time fan of Clare Vivier. She has become more and more popular through the years, which is fabulous! I love the style, leather, & versatility of her products. The red white and blue pouch reminds me so much of summer. I think because I think of the 4th of July when I use it. The small red jewelry pouch I have actually given as gifts to several people. You get a free monogram and it comes with a pair of dice.

These are some of her other bags that I wouldn't mind having:
Kenya Tote
Linen Canvas Clutch
