Organizing Cards You Receive
My husband has saved cards I have given him throughout the years. Vice versa. When he started working offshore several years ago I would send him or give him a letter before every hitch. I decided to compile all the letters throughout the years into a binder. I wanted to be able to see the front and back of the cards and envelopes.
Here is a how to and it is super simple. This is just what works for me.
Supplies:
- Transparency Film Sheets
- Sheet Protectors
- Binder
- Bakers Twine
- Scissors
- Tape
- Cut a small piece of twine to go between the crease of the card.
- Tape each side of the twine on the transparency sheet.
- To add the envelope I put a small piece of tape on the top of the envelope.
- Slide the transparency sheet into the sheet protector and add to binder.
- Enjoy your binder of cards.

Card Organization
I know I posted about organizing greeting cards in 2013, but I decided to change it up once again. Before I was using rings to keep all cards I receive all together, like birthdays, thank you notes, etc. I decided that I wanted to really see them without having to flip through rings. I really don' t go back to them often, but them being in rings seemed to be a hassle.
So here is what you need:
- Small file boxes (I got at the Container Store)
- Paper cutter or scissors
- Card Stock
- Label Maker
- Cards
- Cut however many strips of card stock. For the box I used I cut 6.5" strips and cute about 1" off the bottom to fit the box.
- I labeled the card stock strips.
- Put inside the file box.
- File the cards under the correct tabs.

Halloween Cards
Anyone who knows me knows I love sending mail. I know it is not the most eco thing, but like I have said before paper is my vice. I love getting mail and sending it. Who doesn't love getting mail.
This year I got cards from Hallmark (they were available and inexpensive). If my local stationery store had the Rifle Paper Co. Halloween cards in stock, I would have gotten them probably because I love their cards plus they are printed in the USA. I got some washi tape to use as a seal since I usually use a seal on all my letters. I used stamps I already had. I hope my family and friends enjoy them.

Organizing Greeting Cards
Organizing greeting cards is a hard thing to do and I searched Pinterest up and down trying to figure out the best way to organize / display them because there are some that I really wanted to keep. One way that was suggested, that I tried, was to get metal rings and punch a hole in two areas of the card and put rings in the two holes punched. See below.
I really didn't want to do that with some because I was thinking in the future I may want to display some in frames, etc. So I came up a way that I know is tedious, but essentially how I wanted to display them. I purchased clear projector sheets 100 sheets for $21 at OfficeMax (in case there was something on the back of the card / envelope I wanted displayed), a binder from Target that I really liked, sheet protectors I already had (but that can be purchased at OfficeMax), bakers twine, scissors and tape. I decided to work on cards that I had given my husband throughout the years of dating and marriage that he had been keeping in a file folder. I also did the cards we got from our wedding too.
There may be a more effective way that I just didn't think of too, but this way worked for me. I know this isn't a very environmentally friendly thing to do as it's so much plastic. The binder is the Greenroom eco line at Target. I am eco in many many other ways. I can't always be perfect in that aspect, but do the best I can.

- Cut strips of bakers twine and tape
- Arrange the cards on the projector paper
- Put the string down the middle of the card and tape down
- Put into sheet protector (optional)
- Put into a binder
