As a professional organizer and concierge we get asked ALL the time if we take donations. The answer is YES at Eco Modern Concierge we take donations for you for FREE!! If donations can fit in our vehicles at the end of an organizing session we will take them for you for free. We do not take construction materials, trash or large furniture. If you can and want to, we highly encourage them to donate rather than trash items. We donate to various places and charities in need. We even donate some speciality items to various charities that take those specialty items. Many charities have textile recyclers that come by so if there are clothing items that are not in good shape they can still be recycled.

Organizing Tip: Donations | Houston Professional Organizer

As a professional organizer in Houston we donate A TON of items on behalf of clients. Sometimes we go to the donation center up to 5 times a week because we donate so much for clients. If we have whole houses that need donations or furniture donations we often times schedule for various charities and services to come and pick up the donations. 

In order to keep your home or office really decluttered, it helps to donate often and when you see things that you no longer like, need or want, just add it to the donate pile. That way all the clutter doesn't always seem so overwhelming and like such a big task to tackle all at once. Where to Take Donations in The Woodlands, TX

I was perusing the web to figure out where in The Woodlands, TX is a good place to take items to donate and started my own research when I came upon this gem that had everything I was looking for in one document. As a professional organizer, I am constantly donating items to local organizations and charities. When I came upon this document I thought I had to share. Magazine ID Stamp

I really like this id stamp. It is great for magazines and any personal information you don't want revealed. Since I subscribe to so many magazines and often donate them when I am done reading them, I don't want my personal info out there. It helps me stay organized. I got this at a local Houston store called Kuhl-Linscomb several years ago. You can also find it on Amazon.

#GivingTuesday

I know I am posting this late, but I did want to acknowledge #GivingTuesday, the global day of giving. I love that there is a day to give back especially during a time of year where we are spending a lot of money and consuming a lot. There are many different ways you can give back, whether that is volunteering your time, donating items or giving money. There are tons and tons of different organizations out there. I support several Houston and national organizations throughout the year that I love and mean something to me. During this holiday season I am collecting toy/item donations from my neighborhood, friends and family for MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital. Tis the Season of Giving

This is the season where many people are in the giving spirit and do a lot more giving than usual. 

Common ways do give:

• Give your time and volunteer for various organizations
• Donate money to different charities
• Donate toys to various organizations that help children in need
• "Adopt" a child / family for the holidays
• In my case, a few weeks ago I cut my hair and donated it to Locks of Love

These are just a few ideas, but there is so much more you can do and it doesn't have to be just during the holidays, you can do it year round.
