DIY Yoga Mat Cleaner

When I go to yoga class I try to always bring my own mat. It bothers me when people don't wipe down the yoga mats at the gym, so I make sure to always wipe the mat down if for some reason I forget my mat. Most gyms should have wipes, but if not you can always make your own spray and bring it with you.

Here is an easy DIY yoga mat cleaner recipe:

  • 2oz Spray Bottle
  • 2 tablespoons Witch Hazel
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 5 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  • 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil

Directions: Mix all together and put in a spray bottle. Store it in a cool place or bring it in your yoga bag so you have it when you need it.

Eco & DIY Essential Oil Hand Sanitizers

Throughout the years I have tried some eco hand sanitizers that aren't popular name brands. Clean Well, EO, and Aesop have been kind of been my go to's the last couple of years. Also, I have Higher Nature Colloidal Silver I spray every so often, it helps with germs. I use it mostly when I travel.

Here is a DIY hand sanitizer.

What you need:

  • Fractionated Coconut Oil
  • Doterra Ongaurd essential oil or something similar
  • Doterra Wild Orange essential oil or something similar
  • Spray bottle

  1. Mix 15-20 of Ongaurd and Orange oils and 1-2 oz of coconut oil into a spray bottle.
  2. Shake bottle.
  3. Use on your hands.

DIY Essential Oil Bug Spray

I have been making my own essential oil bug spray and it seems to work great so far. This is great alternative to regular and deet bug repellents.

What you'll need:

  • Doterra TerraShield or a citronella therapeutic grade oil
  • Lemon essential oil
  • Fractionated coconut oil
  • Water
  • Spray bottle 2-4oz

  1. Pour about 1/4 to 1/2 of TerraShield, 10-15 drops of lemon oil, 1-2oz of water and the rest of the bottle fill with fractionated coconut oil.
  2. Shake the bottle to mix everything together.
  3. Spray on skin.

DIY Tinsel Pom Poms

I saw these tinsel pom poms at Target that I really wanted them, but they were kind of expensive to me at $4 for 2. I decided to make my own. I just got a strand of tinsel garland 15ft for $3.50 and made about 25 pom poms. I just cut about 2"strands, made a circle and stapled them together to make poms. It was super simple and easy.

DIY Skeleton Wreath

Once again I saw something on Pinterest and wanted to create it. So I tried this skeleton wreath. This project went much better than the pumpkin project. I got the skeleton already glittered up at the dollar store and the wreath and ribbon can be found at your local craft store. I had the gold spray paint, so I painted the wreath. This project was done for less than $5.
